DECEMBER 15
When we interrupt our day to be still with the Lord for a couple of moments we can be renewed by Immanuel and His love for us. Our Advent Devotional is an invitation to quietly settle ourselves so we may know more of His presence with us. Find a quiet space to reflect on the theme and verses of the day. Spend as much time as you are able and be refreshed as you trust His presence with you today.
Immanuel: God with Us in the Child
This week, we look at the names given for Jesus in the prophecy of His birth found in Isaiah 9:6-7. The names reveal the way God gives Himself to us through His son, this child, Jesus.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.” (Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV)
DAY 15 FOCUS
God with me as my King
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. (Isaiah 9:7)
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
