About the Lord’s Little Cooker
The Lord’s Little Cooker is a faith-based ministry that seeks to reach people for Christ and share the gospel with them by serving members of the community who are less fortunate, do not have a home, or are in need of food, clothing and supplies, by offering these things freely once a week.
What will I be doing?
You will be paired with a seasoned volunteer who knows all the safety procedures and protocols that have allowed the ministry to operate safely during the pandemic. Mask requirements will depend on guidelines on the particular day. We will honor our host’s protocols.
One of your main roles is to observe. Ask God to help you see and understand His work in and through ministry of The Lord’s Little Cooker. Ask God to help you view each person you see as someone made in the image of God and remember that you do not know the story of the people who are receiving services so ask God to help you refrain from making judgements or forming opinions about any person. Stay open and be willing to listen and learn. The Lord’s Little Cooker is a community of caring friends who give and receive through their presence week by week.
The volunteer will explain how to do anything that you might be asked to do, so follow their instructions as there are reasons why each thing is done the way it is done.
