ABout Us

Welcome to Northshore Christian Church!

Our mission is to carry out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission:

Luke 10:27 commands us to: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’"

Matthew 28:19 commands us to: “go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

These are the two pillars we have built the ministry of Northshore on.  You will see this mission caught in the phrase:

“Loving God, Loving People and Serving the World”

Our Vision is to see a church of passionate lovers of God who are connected in vibrant relationship to other people with the desire to establish and extend the Kingdom of God through serving.”

The strategy of Northshore Christian Church has adopted to carry out this mandate is to SHARE  the good news of Jesus Christ with our community and our world. Our many and varied ministries are intentionally designed to CONNECT people to Christ and to His Church and to help people GROW in the love for God and the likeness of Christ through worship, fellowship, and discipleship.  Ultimately we are called to SERVE the body of Christ and the world around us.

Northshore is an independent, non-denominational church.  We are not formally affiliated with any other church or national headquarters.  Our members come to Northshore from every tradition . . . from Presbyterian to Catholic to Methodist to Quaker to Baptist and then some.

Northshore is a church that can offer a wide variety of programs and services, especially to families.  We have a large Children’s Ministry/Awana program, active Junior/Senior High youth groups and specific ministries for adult men and women.  Northshore offers Christian education to the community through our Academy  and daycare programs as well as the many ministries throughout the week.  We are a “Seven-day-a-week” church.

Northshore is known for its informal, relational atmosphere and facilities resources.  The church has extensive offerings of online media.  There is an emphasis on spiritual growth and biblical teaching.  Finally, Northshore connects people into small groups where real growth, caring and fellowship can happen.  We are a church that strives to “grow larger by growing smaller.”

Northshore began in 1991 as a church plant of Overlake Christian Church in Redmond.  In 2000, we moved to our permanent location near Boeing’s Everett factory.  Our facilities span 33 acres with a view of Puget Sound, Whidbey Island and the Everett waterfront.  We occupy 133,000 square feet of space.  Resources include a 900-seat auditorium, a 250-seat Performing Arts Center, 30 classrooms, extensive lobby, kitchen, playgrounds and soccer field.

The “Christian” in our names comes from our affiliation with the Independent Christian Church.  Specifically, we participate in the North American Christian Convention.  This is a fellowship of "Christian churches and churches of Christ" that are independent and autonomously governed.  Click here to see Wikipedia’s detailed information on this fellowship.
