Global Discipleship Week 2012: Be Part of the Dream! Help us complete the fundraising needed for materials to rebuild the Children’s Feeding Center in Costa Rica! To date, we have raised about $62,000 of the $150,000 needed. You can donate either online (January 27-February 19, 2012) at www.northshoremissions.org, or during Global Discipleship Week, February 4-12, 2012.

Background: Located in one of the poorest suburbs of San Jose, this program operates 5 days a week and feeds over 250 children per day. The building that houses this endeavor is in desperate need of repair and without the necessary attention the program itself is in jeopardy. Our goal is to help raise the necessary funds and also provide some of the skilled and unskilled labor to totally rebuild the feeding center. Love at Work Ministries (http://www.love-at-work.com/) is also providing $15,000 as well as architectural services and volunteer labor.
God is using Pastor Alberto Castro and Rocio Ujueta Bolaños and their ministry in powerful ways throughout the community of Alajuelita and surrounding areas of San Jose. We are blessed to be partnered with such committed servants of our Lord Jesus Christ and are looking forward to see how God will use us to be the light of Christ in the many lives He will be blessing.
Special Message from Pastor Alberto Castro:
This place for many years has only been a feeding center, but this hasn't been a pertinent answer to the real need the community has, because the problem we have is that the ladies of our town don't have the possibility to find a job due to a lack of a safe place to leave the children and so they have been obligated to live with what people give to them, like us in the feeding center.
For years the mothers and their children have come here to eat. This alleviates the situation but doesn't fix the problem. We always have had the idea and dream to build a daycare building; a place where we can feed the children but also the single mothers will have a chance to work during the day and come back at night for their kids.
So we thank God that now, starting this year, we will start the construction of this building that is going to be a blessing for many people, and while on one side the children keep eating, we will also be able to break the cycle that has maintained this poor condition of the mothers. If we just feed them every day, they will never overcome their situation unless someone takes care of their children so they can work.
We thank God that for the first time we will be able to answer this way and we thank you!
I want to send a greeting to all the teams from Northshore that have helped us for many years, many of you that don't even know us, or haven't had a chance to visited us but have always supported us; this is so important for us as a church. We want to thank you and we hope that many will be able to come now to see this building that we will start construction very soon.
We know you are a part of this, and we want you to visit and to see what God is doing in this
Community thru this friendship we have sustained for so long. Thank you first of all and blessings for you in the name of Jesus.
