Evangelism

Northshore exists to make disciples of all the nations.  Matthew’s gospel tells us that this involves baptizing and teaching.  The task of evangelism is helping people:

  • come from antipathy to Christ and His claims
  • embrace the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and begin following Him as Lord.

Northshore’s goal is that this becomes the heart focus of every believer as they walk through their week.  Evangelism and outreach is an aspect of every ministry because it is part of NCC’s DNA.

Besides the individual’s personal heart for evangelism and the on-going efforts of every ministry, the wider church joins in the following ways to spread the good news in Snohomish County as a body:

Bridgebuilders

Bridgebuilders make a phone call to those who visit NCC within 48 hours of their visit.  The phone call is a friendly touch, thanking people for attending and providing one more way to connect personally with our guests.  There are opportunities to answer questions.  Sometimes spiritual conversations can emerge that lead to opportunities to share your story.

Invitation Prayer Team

Pastor Ken regularly invites people to come forward at the end of a service and prays with them to receive Christ.  The Invitation Prayer Team is available immediately after to connect with those who respond and give them a Welcome to the Family Pack, explaining how they can grow in their faith and informing them about the weekly Fresh Start classes for follow up.

Day of Sharing
This is one of the highlight outreach events for NCC.  The second Saturday of December finds our auditorium converted into a thrift shop for used clothes and new toys.  Our lobby is converted into a restaurant.  Children’s ministry has childcare and a lively children’s ministry while moms and dads are shopping for presents and clothing.  Hosts interview families to build relationship.  There are opportunities to bridge into sharing your story of how God worked in your life or the great good news message.

Catalyst Northshore Projects
These are love in action projects in the community several times a year.  These projects do practical repairs and maintenance on homes or non-profits and afford opportunities to develop relationships with people in the community that can become bridges for the good news.

Community Involvement
The Community Care Pastor can help you connect to a local non-profit or organization that accepts volunteers for assistance in hospitals, convalescent homes, schools, etc.  Here you can build a relationship based on practical love that may result in opportunities to answer questions about your faith (I Peter 3:15)
